Hello, this is the very first blog post in this second semester, marking the beginning of my second project! I plan on continuing an Action project with my friend, Vicky, due to our connection and shared passions, but this time we have brainstormed many different ideas for a new project. To get started with an Action project, I first explored some of my personal values and morals with an activity where I chose three of my most important values. These values had been: Equality, Compassion, and Justice. On the other hand, my least important values had turned out to be: Tradition, Power, and Competence. I concur with these results to certain points, I believe that I am truly passionate about justice and equality, it’s something that I have known I care about for a long time and I hold these values in high regard, and along with compassion, something that I try my best to improve, grow with , and always show. Moreover, I would also agree that my least important values are tradition, power, and competence. I believe that these are still incredibly important, but there are certain times when things like competence are okay not to necessarily have.

After having researched the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals, I was very intrigued by goal #10, Reduced Inequalities, and I believe that this is a goal that really aligned with some of my strongest values. This goal goes into greater depth about the fight against discrimination, not only of sexism– which is it’s own goal, gender equality, but this goal specifically includes everyone who may experience inequality against race, disability, and they wish to improve political and economic equality as well. I believe that goal #10, Reduce Inequalities, and as well as goal #3, Good Health and Well Being, are my passions. As I mentioned about goal #10, these goals are very profound and important, I also believe that in many cases inequalities and health can overlap in terms of healthcare systems and judicial issues.

The project that my friend and I plan to work on isn’t entirely definite yet, but we have had many ideas. Thus far, we know that we might like to begin a science, STEM, or health related project, and we would love to help our community and connect with our surrounds again, so we may volunteer at care centers, youth groups, or local events. Soon, we will have our entire project plan, and we can’t wait to incorporate our passions, our strengths and begin another amazing project.
